In Where Winds Meet, players can earn rewards for capturing criminals
In the world of Where Winds Meet, law is a relative concept. The open world is populated not only by NPCs but also by real players who can break the rules, rob, attack, and wreak havoc. If your character is already sufficiently leveled and you want to turn PvP into a source of income and reputation, the Bounty Hunter path is calling.
The Bounty Hunting system is accessed through the Wandering Paths → Bounty menu. Two key options are available here: standard hunting contracts and Vendetta mode. In both cases, the game automatically generates quests, eliminating the need to manually search for criminals. Contracts can be issued for both NPCs and real players, but the most valuable rewards are provided for taking down living opponents.
Contracts can be updated to match a target to your level or combat style. Sometimes it's more profitable to choose a less skilled opponent, while other times it's better to take a risk for a higher gains. After confirming the mission, the system teleports the hunter directly to the target's world, even if they are in single-player mode. This makes the hunting mechanics dynamic and unpredictable.
The main feature of the system is spawning right beside the criminal. This allows you to instantly begin combat with every tool at your disposal: from toxic arrows to rare weapon styles, including the Strategic Sword. Defeating the target automatically completes the contract and award the loots.

The Vendetta section deserves special attention. This is where contracts created by players themselves are posted. Some seek revenge for a previous attack, a failed mission, or simply toxic behavior. In the request, the settler can leave a note explaining the reason for the vendetta. The target can be either a player or an NPC, and upon successful completion, the client receives a notification of the outcome.
Before setting out on a hunt, it's a good idea to prepare. It's recommended to equip high-damage gears and self-healing items. Some foes rely on protracted fights and constant healing, so poison arrows, which reduce the effectiveness of their healing, can be particularly useful. If the target constantly avoids confrontation, skills like Cloud Steps and Meridian Touch can help quickly close the distance.
It's important to note that sometimes the selected target may be engaged in a key storyline quest — in which case, the system will temporarily prevent the hunt from starting. Before teleporting, you can also study the enemy's fighting style to determine whether you'll be facing a resilient tank or an aggressive DPS. You don't have to worry about your surroundings — NPCs near the battlefield will not be harmed.
