KEMCO has released Akuma Rise — a classic jRPG centered around a demon with amnesia
Publisher KEMCO continues to develop its line of niche Japanese role-playing games for mobile platforms. The studio's latest project, the RPG Akuma Rise, is aimed at fans of old-school JRPGs with turn-based combat systems, story-driven approaches, and slick anime aesthetics. The enchanting adventure hit the scene on February 3, 2026, for iOS and Android users.

The plot revolves around the protagonist, a demon who awakens in a fog of forgetfulness. With no memories of his past, he gradually becomes embroiled in a large-scale conflict involving multiple nations. The central point of the confrontation lies within the Shadow Dimension — a mysterious force whose control can alter the balance of power in the world. As players progress, they will not only engage in political and military struggles but also piece together the lost fragments of the protagonist's identity.

Akuma Rise

Akuma Rise's gameplay stays true to the genre's traditional dynamics: turn-based skirmishes, character development, team building, and story-driven dialogue. The hero's party includes a variety of companions, from anime princesses to a quirky mascot, each with their own unique abilities and role in the battlefield. Visually and structurally, the game draws inspiration from acclaimed beloved classic titles like Octopath Traveler and early Final Fantasy games, capitalizing on nostalgia for the "golden age" of jRPGs.

The game is available in two formats. Users can purchase a premium version with full one-time purchase, while a free-to-play option exists for Android. The developers warn that transferring saves between versions is not supported, so it's best to choose your preferred playthrough format in advance.
