KEMCO has released Akuma Rise — a classic jRPG about a demon with amnesia
Publisher KEMCO continues to develop its line of niche Japanese role-playing games for mobile platforms. The studio's new project, the RPG Akuma Rise, is aimed at fans of classic JRPGs with turn-based combat, a story-driven approach, and anime aesthetics. The game was released on February 3, 2026, for iOS and Android users.

The plot revolves around the protagonist, a demon who has lost his memory. Waking up with no memories of his past, he gradually becomes embroiled in a large-scale conflict between several nations. The central point of the confrontation is the Shadow Dimension — a mysterious force whose control can alter the balance of power in the world. As the player progresses, they will not only engage in political and military struggles but also restore lost fragments of the protagonist's personality.

Akuma Rise

Akuma Rise's gameplay is in keeping with the genre's traditions: turn-based battles, skill development, team building, and story-driven dialogue. The hero's party includes a variety of companions, from anime princesses to a quirky mascot, each with their own abilities and role in battle. Visually and structurally, the game draws inspiration from acclaimed classics like Octopath Traveler and early Final Fantasy games, capitalizing on nostalgia for the "golden age" of jRPGs.

The game is available in two formats. Users can purchase a premium version with full purchase, as well as a free-to-play version for Android. The developers warn that transferring saves between versions is not supported, so it's best to choose your preferred playthrough format in advance.
