Monster Hunter Outlanders has entered closed testing
The closed beta test for Monster Hunter Outlanders has begun and will run until December 4th. Players from Japan, the United States, and Canada can participate on iOS and Android devices. Upon first login, your Level Infinite Pass account will automatically be linked to the smartphone you log in on; it cannot be changed afterward.
The system requirements are particularly noteworthy, as they appear impressive for a mobile game. iOS requires an iPhone 12 or later and iOS 17.0. Android users must have Android 12, at least 8 GB of RAM, and a 64-bit chipset similar to the Snapdragon 888. It is also worth noting that at least 40 GB of free storage is required.
The developers also strictly limited the list of supported form factors:
Participation is only available to players 18+, and all accumulated progress will be reset after the test ends.

These requirements have sparked heated debate on Western gaming platforms. The 40+ GB client size came as a surprise to many: some happily shared that their 512 GB model finally came in handy, while others were perplexed why more powerful tablets were left out of the list of compatible devices. The development team limited itself to a dry explanation that the test is conducted exclusively on strictly defined smartphone categories.
Despite the controversy, interest in the beta test remains high: Monster Hunter Outlanders promises to be one of the most ambitious mobile projects of the year, and the requirements only fuel the community's curiosity.
