Resident Evil surprises again — now it’s a mobile strategy

Resident Evil fans are getting ready for a new round of horror — only now in the format of a mobile strategy. Aniplex studio, together with JOYCITY and with the support of Capcom, the copyright holder of the legendary horror franchise, announced Resident Evil: Survival Unit — a completely new game for smartphones, inspired by the atmosphere and legacy of Resident Evil.
The developers promise a fresh gameplay approach: Survival Unit is not a shooter or a third-person action game, but a multiplayer strategy with elements of survival and horror. Players will build a base, extract resources, form teams of survivors, participate in PvE missions and battles against other players. All this surrounded by infected territories and with a constant threat from zombies and mutants.
Although the exact release date has not yet been announced, interest in the project is growing rapidly. At the moment, the game is not available for pre-registration in the App Store or Google Play, and no trial launch is planned. However, an official teaser site has already been opened, and pages have been created in Western social networks, which speaks of the global ambitions of the project.
The main intrigue remains the upcoming presentation on July 11, where the developers promise to tell for the first time in detail about the mechanics, plot and visual style of the new game.
Resident Evil: Survival Unit will be the franchise's first mobile project in the strategy genre. Will the signature atmosphere of anxiety and tension be preserved in the new format? We'll see very soon.
