The release of MOCHI-O featuring a pixel hamster has taken place
At first glance, it seems that saving the world from armies of robots and aliens is the prerogative of heroes with armor and laser guns. However, the developers behind the new mobile game MOCHI-O have flipped the script: the ultimate defender of Earth is... a cute pixelated hamster with a taste for sunflower seeds. While his size may not inspire fear, this little critter is packed with plenty of firepower and strategic skills.

Now live on iOS and Android via the App Store and Google Play, the game also runs on PC via Google Play Games. MOCHI-O is free-to-play: ads and in-app purchases are sprinkled in, but the core action is accessible to everyone.

The gameplay mechanics are simple yet engaging. The player controls a hamster fighting waves of enemies. Defeated enemies leave behind "experience" in the form of seeds — the more seeds you collect, the faster your hero's power grows. Leveling up also allows you to select from a trio of random power-ups, adding an element of strategy and surprise into your gaming session.

But this isn't just a tower defense game with a fluffy mascot. The developers have added mini-care features for your pal: you can feed and pet them, increasing their effectiveness in battle. Blueprints for base upgrades and weapon customization are also available, allowing you to tailor your defense to your own playstyle.
