Persona 5: The Phantom X is preparing for a global launch
SEGA is actively preparing for the release of the global version of the mobile game Persona 5: The Phantom X, based on the universe of the cult Japanese RPG. The official pages of the project have recently appeared in the App Store and Google Play. Users have noticed that the pages indicate an estimated release date of June 26, 2025.

However, the Japanese version of the game has not even been released yet — its launch is scheduled for the summer, without specifying the month. Usually, the global release follows the release on the domestic market. Moreover, at the time of publication of the news, neither beta tests nor a soft launch have been announced, which also raises doubts about the June premiere.

Persona 5: The Phantom X is a free-to-play mobile spin-off of the famous series, developed jointly with the Chinese studio Perfect World Games. Players will find a familiar formula: during the day — the everyday life of a Japanese schoolboy, studying, socializing and talking to NPCs, and at night — turning into a member of the Phantom Thieves team, traveling through mysterious dungeons and tactical turn-based battles.

The plot of the game begins with the protagonist waking up from a disturbing dream and discovering that the world around him has changed — hope has disappeared, and reality has turned into something frightening. Strange allies appear on his way: a talking owl named Lefay, a mysterious man with a long nose and a charming girl in blue. Together they will set off on a journey through the worlds of the Metaverse and the Velvet Room to confront dangerous illusions that threaten both the fictional and real worlds.

Shortly after the mobile release announcement, a Steam page for Persona 5: The Phantom X was also spotted. This could indicate that the game is being prepared not only for a mobile launch, but also for a PC release.
