Delta Force gets new "Detonation" bomb-defusal mode
On September 26, the developers of Delta Force released a trailer for the "Detonation" mode. Its mechanics bear a striking resemblance to titles like Counter-Strike and Valorant: two teams battle on small maps with distinct objectives. One side must plant and activate an explosive device, while the other must stop their opponents and defuse the bomb.
However, Delta Force adds its own unique elements to this established formula. Players can utilize active operator abilities, meaning matches aren't limited solely to shooting and positioning. Players can deploy mines and barbed wire, block off passageways, and use shield-wielding operatives to hold key areas of the map.
There are also more dynamic mechanics at play. The developers clearly drew inspiration not only from classic tactical shooters but also from the faster pace of modern action games. Consequently, "Detonation" allows players to slide to avoid incoming fire and execute impressive maneuvers right in the middle of a firefight.
The new mode is currently in the beta testing phase. Meanwhile, some players are still eagerly awaiting a completely different feature: a full-fledged battle royale mode. There is already community speculation regarding a potential 2027 release for such a mode, though the developers have not yet announced a specific date or officially confirmed these rumors.
