Players are testing the Sulfuric Cube en masse in Minecraft
The new Minecraft update, released on June 16th, unexpectedly presented players with not only fresh content to explore but also a true internet sensation. We're talking about the Sulphur Cube, a new passive creature that has literally captured the community's attention.

The Sulphur Cube's main feature is its ability to absorb various blocks and change its behavior depending on what's inside. This mechanic opens up a huge scope for creativity and experimentation. For example, if you feed the creature a TNT block, the cube will turn into a walking bomb. However, simply approaching it isn't enough to cause it to explode — the mob must be set on fire or brought into contact with a fire source. After this, a countdown begins, with the detonation occurring noticeably slower than with regular dynamite.

The Sulfur Cube interacts equally interestingly with other blocks. If you feed it ice, it begins to slide across the surface, turning into a kind of living projectile. The mob's contents can be changed almost infinitely by simply feeding it new blocks.

The update also introduced a completely new biome to the game: Sulfur Caves. This location is noticeably different from typical Minecraft dungeons. Powerful geysers regularly appear here, spewing jets of water and launching players high into the air.

The sulfur pools pose an additional danger. Standing near them causes nausea, making exploration difficult. Sharp sulfur spikes grow on the cave ceilings, which can break off at any moment and injure an unwary traveler. Among the inhabitants of the new biome are also cave spiders, making exploration even more challenging.

The developers haven't forgotten about construction enthusiasts either. The update also introduces two new color sets of blocks inspired by sulfur caves. They come complete with a full set of decorative elements, including stairs and other building pieces.
