Huawei P40 Pro will receive a Sony IMX700 photo sensor

As you know, Samsung introduced its 108 megapixel ISOCELL Bright HMX1 sensor, which was successfully demonstrated in the new flagship Galaxy S20 Ultra. The sensor is 1/1.33 inches, the pixel size was 0.8 microns, and the main chip was Nonacell technology, which allows you to combine 9 pixels in a 3x3 scheme into one large pixel 2.4 microns in size. Sony is ready to compete with its Sony IMX700 sensor. The sensor will receive 52 megapixels with support for the RYYB color filter and a size of 1/1.33. The chip of this sensor is the combination of 16 pixels in a 4x4 scheme into one large pixel up to 4.48 microns in size. This technology should significantly improve the quality of photographs in low light. And the first lucky owner of this sensor will be the Huawei P40 Pro. Along with the Sony IMX700 sensor, there will be a bunch of photomodules: 40 megapixels wide-angle, ToF module, telephoto with a scope for 10x optical zoom.

The premiere of the Huawei P40 line should take place on March 26. The flagships will receive a Kirin 990 processor, an OLED matrix, 8 GB of RAM, capacious batteries, as well as support for fast wireless and wired charging.
