Playdigious announces mobile version of Sea of Stars
Playdigious Studios has officially confirmed that it is working on a mobile version of the turn-based RPG Sea of Stars. The release targets iOS and Android devices on April 7, 2026. The game's pages are already open in the App Store and Google Play, where users can add it to their wishlist.
The mobile version will be distributed as a premium version, without in-game advertising or forced microtransactions. The project will cost $8.99. The developers emphasize that the port is being created with touchscreens in mind, while retaining all the content of the original release.
Sea of Stars was first dropped on August 29, 2023, for PC and consoles and quickly became one of the most notable indie RPGs in recent years. The game received high user ratings and acclaim for its visual style, soundtrack, and careful reimagining of classic genre mechanics. The developers drew inspiration from cult Japanese role-playing games of the 1990s, prioritizing dynamic turn-based combat and a cinematic storytelling.

The story follows two Solstice Children, who can manipulate the energy of the Sun and Moon. The heroes embark on a perilous journey to confront an ancient evil, uncover the secrets of their origins, and influence the fate of the world. Along the way, players explore a variety of locations, interact with characters, and participate in side activities.
Besides combat, Sea of Stars features boat travel, cooking, fishing, visiting taverns, listening to musical performances, and playing the board game "Wheel." These elements will also be retained in the mobile transition.
