In the updated version of Bugtopia, insects fight for a clean yard
The first official release of the strategy puzzle game Bugtopia on Android took place in November 2022. At that time, the game caused a lot of criticism for being too direct an imitation of Plants vs Zombies. Gamers were confused by the similar settlement development mechanics, the tower defense combat system, the similar cartoonish graphics...
It is not known whether the comments played a role, or the 37GAMES developers were guided by other considerations, but recently the game page in the Play Market was closed, and then gamers from 12 selected countries got access to the new early version of Bugtopia: Survival Game.
According to the reworked plot, now players will have to not only defend a colony of peaceful beetles from malicious neighbors, but lead a real resistance movement in order to:
During the game, its participants will complete various quests, receive bonuses in the form of accelerated construction or collection of necessary resources, and those who have pumped up their level enough will be able to form alliances and act together.
The visual part still retains a cartoon style with a good dose of humor, and the number of insects living in the backyard has increased. Gamers will have to judge how good the new version is and whether the game was worth the candle. However, only those who own an Android device, since the developer does not plan to release a version for iOS.

- Fight in a “wall-to-wall” format against mutant lizards living in dark, abandoned corners of the yard;
- Summon warrior beetles and other insects that are indispensable in battles to their side.
