Sony has presented its flagship headphones WF-1000XM5

Known for its success in the field of high-tech audio devices, Sony has officially announced the opening of pre-orders for the WF-1000XM5 wireless headphones, improved in several ways at once. According to the manufacturer, these flagship-level devices are ready to compete with recognized segment leaders such as Apple AirPods Pro 2 or Galaxy Buds Pro.



Here's what the developers are going to please fans of high-quality sound with:

• Two noise-canceling processors, Integrated Processor V2 and QN2e, which Sony confidently claims are the best currently available on the market.
  
• Three sensitive microphones in each earbud. On one hand, they contribute to noise cancellation by blocking low frequencies; on the other hand, they switch to transmitting external sounds in Ambient Sound and Quick Attention modes, allowing users to stay aware of their surroundings.
  
• The 8.4mm Dynamic Driver X driver with diaphragm made from a special combination of materials. This ensures rich and detailed sound with low distortion.
  
• DSEE Extreme AI upscaling, which enhances high-frequency sound that is often lost when playing compressed digital files in other conditions.
  
• The gesture control function, which complements the traditional touch control. Users can now give commands to the headphones by nodding or shaking their head in certain cases.
  
• Soft nozzles made of polyurethane foam. Thanks to their elasticity, they allow you to achieve a tighter fit to the ear canal and, as a result, increased soundproofing.
  
• Compact size and lightweight design. The new headphones are 25% smaller than the previous model and 20% lighter.
  
• Glossy finish and the option to choose between silver and black versions. The overall design remains unchanged, although the silhouette has become slightly rounder.
  

These headphones can connect to multiple sources simultaneously, are water-resistant with an IPx4 rating, and support formats such as Hi-Res Audio, 360 Reality Audio, LDAC, SB3, AAC, and LC3. They also feature Bluetooth 5.3.

With a full 90-minute charge, the WF-1000XM5 headphones can provide up to 8 hours of continuous use in active mode, a quick 3-minute charge gives approximately 1 hour of playtime.
