Pixel 4 showed amazing capabilities when shooting the northern lights

Night Sight technology has really become a real breakthrough and not all smartphones are capable, like Pixel, of excellent shooting at night. Google has repeatedly demonstrated the capabilities of the Night Sight mode, in particular the astrophotography mode, which allows you to take a photograph of the starry sky with an exposure of up to 4 minutes. But Google decided not to stop there and demonstrated other features of its own Pixel smartphones. To unleash the full potential of Night Sight, the company invited photographer Tom Archer to visit Senha Island in Norway to take photos of the northern lights on Pixel 4.

The photos were incredible, though for this the photographer needed a tripod and a little time. Officially, the astrophotography mode is available in the version of Google Camera 7.2 on the smartphones Pixel 4, Pixel 3a and Pixel 3.
