From $50 to $7000 OnePlus promise for vulnerabilities found in their own smartphones
More than once, OnePlus has been accused of leaking user data. So in January 2018, attackers managed to get data from more than 10 thousand OnePlus users. In November 2019, a second attack occurred, the names of smartphone owners, as well as their emails and delivery dates, got on the network. To enhance the security of its devices, OnePlus partnered with HackerOne, a security platform, and announced the Bug Bounty program. For each detected security vulnerability, a reward will be assigned in the amount of $ 50 to $ 7,000. All information about a potential threat to OnePlus Community or OnePlus applications will be checked by the Security Reporting Center. Initially, the program will be available only on HackerOne, and by the end of 2020 will become available to a wide audience. Of course, such a vulnerability of OnePlus products shows the company from the wrong side, but the fact that OnePlus acknowledges its mistakes and seeks to fix everything is commendable.
